Postcards from Stockholm

These are the last photos from my stay in Stockholm. I went to an outdoor food market (well of course) near the Opera House on an early and foggy morning, to Östermalm Saluhall and visited K25 – a design food court – located a few blocks away. Since it was too early to have lunch, I just sneaked in and took photos. I can’t get enough of spaces like this one. Back in Södermalm, it began pouring but it didn’t stop me from walking on pretty empty streets and venturing out to experiment a nice scenic view of Gamla Stan from Södermalm. Am I crazy if I say I like foggy days? I love its mysterious and nostalgic feeling. It might explain why I hope to visit United Kingdom once again.

But back to Stockholm. I really love this city. Handsome boys, great fashion and minimalist design, waterfront and beautiful subway stations combined with fresh seafood, endless summer and crisp air makes this city unique and so attractive to me. I can’t wait to head back to Sweden.

So long, Stockholm. Continue Reading…

Djurgården & Gamla Stan

Djurgarden, Stockholm - Sylvie Li

More photos of my second day in Stockholm. The city was in full bloom and there was too much prettiness in one place… Travel is the moment when I feel the most grounded and inspired by all these new discoveries, people and things to do. I love having this sensation. Reminiscing about these magical days makes me realize how much I feel connected with the spirit and warmth of Stockholm.   Continue Reading…

Rosendals Trädgård

This was my best day in Stockholm. After all the pouring rain in Copenhagen, it was finally sunny and bright, yay! One thing I really enjoyed about the city is the constant presence of the water. Wherever you are, you are close to it. In Djurgården, people were either running, walking the dog or paddle boating right in the middle of the city. So cool. Continue Reading…

Hej Stockholm

Stockholm and me, it was kind of love at first sight. When I looked out the window of the train and saw all the water surroundings, the bright sun and the city landscape, I knew I would already love the city. And it has so much to offer.  Continue Reading…

Quick stop at Tenhult

P5151411-1 SLi

Spending some time outside of the city feels good, even if it’s for less than 24 hours. Before heading to Stockholm, I made a quick stop at Jönköping and Tenhult, this little city nearby where my friend Marine was living during her exchange semester. It was a haven on earth. Not a single soul. Only greenness and emptiness during the golden hour. I love that. That and fika (the Swedish coffee break). I swear I could have fika everyday. Continue Reading…
